I think my Grandma is a witch. I was over at her house the other day helping her clean out her old dusty attic. It was filled with boxes and things she had accumulated over the years of her life. While she was making lunch I came across an opened box that had an old notebook in it. I opened the notebook and on the first page she had written the word - Remedies.
I started leafing through the notebook until I came to a page she had written - Home Wart Removal Remedies. She must have had 20 different home wart removal remedies written down. I was amazed that there could be that many.
The first one on the list was for oregano. The remedy was to place one drop of oil of oregano on the wart nightly. But not only that my Grandma had written down exactly how long it should take for the wart to disappear - a few days.
The next home wart removal remedy was for Elmer's glue and the application of it was to apply Elmer's glue to the wart and to leave it on until the glue falls off. If the wart isn't gone within a week - reapply.
The third home wart removal remedy was for a ripe banana peel. The instructions my Grandma had listed were as follows - cut a piece a ripe banana peel and apply the pulp side to the wart and tape securely. Leave the banana peel on except when bathing - change the banana peel daily. This remedy may take a number of months, but it is effective in getting rid of stubborn plantar warts.
I continued leafing through the old notebook and realized that my Grandma had a home remedy for nearly every ailment that you could think of. My Grandma had grown up on a farm and these home remedies had been passed down from generation to generation.
I guess my Grandma wasn't really a witch. She was probably more like a country doctor. I know now that if I ever get a wart or any other ailment - to check with my Grandma first. I know she'll have a remedy.
